CABANAS PUENTECILLAS
We took off to see the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico and stay in some cute cabins at CABAÑAS PUENTECILLAS, about 30 minutes from El Salto area - beautiful!
The 170+ mile trip took 7 hours to get there...yeah - I know hard to believe - but what do you do when you are on top of the world on a two lane road and TIGHT hair pin curves and you come upon a 18 wheeler in your lane, just so that he can make the corner?
Well I will tell you - you go slow and drive cautiously! And at times you stop and back up!!
Luckily they are building a new road - in the next year or so it will be open - they have been working on it for a LONG TIME I blogged about it before here is the link New Road Oh here is a pic of one of the bridges...just to get an idea ~

We were on top of the world at one point! Even the sky changed (it looked like it could rain!)

The cabins had running water and toilets!! We needed the fire going every evening and morning it was brrrr!

The kids hiked, boated, sling shot the lake up, had water balloon fights, ate way to many marshmallows and hot dogs over the fire - in general they all had a lot of fun.
I was able to chill out with some great friends and brainstorm with my newest best freind ~ What else could a person ask for?
Next time I will go for longer...but with no refrigeration, will need to bring a bunch of ice or go in the colder months!
CABAÑAS PUENTECILLAS We will be back!
