Pharmacies in Mexico

Only in America ......do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.

That got me to thinking a bit about Pharmacies in Mexico ~

  • Pharmacies are different here. First off you can not buy cigarettes at them.
  • I have never had to drop off my prescription and wait or come back. You walk up to the pharmacist, hand them your prescription, they go get the product, you pay and you leave ...with the prescription still in your hand!
  • Overall, from what I hear the prescriptions are cheaper here.
  • Contrary to popular belief...Mexico does not sale narcotic drugs, they are too addicting!
I wonder what pharmacies are like in other countries???

Once when we were in Guadalajara, Gavin got real sick. We went to the pharmacy at night - saw the doctor and got three prescriptions for him..the total cost was 80 pesos!!! (like $6.00usd)

and even better  I went to the doctor today and for a $400+ visit I can legally continue buying the meds I require for life at my local Wal-Mart for the next 6 months. Such a deal.
