I love snow...after working and riding with horses year round in the Colorado mountains, I appreciate the snow,  a LOT more NOT sitting in a saddle at 8,500 feet with 6 feet of snow on the ground and FREEZING temperatures....BUT I still love the snow ~ (in a warm cabin cuddled up next to a fire and surrounded with many soft blankies)

I am surrounded by epic amounts of snow falling in our beautiful Colorado mountains!  Gothic, Colorado has 82 inches of snowfall...just from this storm! 

The predictions for this storm are up to eight feet, it began yesterday and expected to hang around till Thursday.

Crested Butte will likely hit the prediction of 8 feet of snow, as in the past few days they have received 4 feet of snow, and in the last week they have got 6 feet of snow!

They are predicting another 3 to 6 FEET of snow in the next few days for the areas above 9,000 feet.

I-70 is closed right now at the Eisenhower tunnel both directions... with a 4 to 8 hour wait time, due to an accident  ~ one tanker was  filled with blasting agent!!.....An avalanche has closed down Cameron Pass....  Loveland Pass is now open after it was closed for several hours due to an avalanche...
Of course the chain law is in effect ~

The skiers always love the Pineapple Express - which is what we are experiencing...a wet, slow moving storm, that dumps epic amounts of rain or snowfall...preferably snowfall.

It can bring with it odd high temperatures —- I remember- years back -   a few times when in the middle of the night in the high mountains..I woke to an eerie...warmth!  It was 60 degrees!! This is an oddity .... But NO good if it were to rain on all the beautiful snow!!

The Pineapple Express originates from???? .......yes, you guessed it!!. Hawaii ~~ its a tropical weather system that has brought a stream of moisture stretching from Hawaii to Colorado.

AND I LOVE IT! ....Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
