Insurance on Toll Roads
Being from Colorado, I have not been around toll roads much of my life. We now have some in Denver ... I use it to get to the airport. It is a quiet road and it really speeds up the trip to DIA,
I believe that when I pay the toll fees in Colorado that the money goes to....well..I am not sure! But I am quite sure what it does not go towards.
I beleive it does not go towards paying for my vehicle, if I have an accident on this road (due to the road itself OR another vehicle) or the medical payments that may come with that accident..and worse case scenario I do not believe that if there were a death it would pay for funeral expenses.........I think very simply it is a money maker for the government.
HOWEVER - Here in Mexico things are different with the tolls ~ It may be hard to comprehend......BUT the tolls here may be used to help you!!!
A shocker I know...but really....check it out ~ The tolls you pay are an insurance!
Toll Road Insurance Coverage:
Amazing...a system that is designed to help...You just gotta love it!

Toll Road Insurance Coverage:
The insurance covers two different situations. One, if you are at fault it will cover the following:
- Damage to the road
- Damage to other vehicles including medical payments for occupants and pedestrians
- Medical payments and funeral expenses for occupants of your vehicle
- There is no deductible if you are driving a car, but there are deductibles if you are driving a bus or a small bus or larger vehicle
The insurance will not cover damage to your vehicle if you are at fault
Secondly, if you are not at fault, it will pay for :
- Damage to your vehicle including towing expenses
- Medical payments for occupants of your vehicle including land ambulance to the nearest medical center
- The above will be covered as a consequence of landslides, objects within the asphalt, holes, and substances that have been spilled on the road.
- If tires have been damaged, lights broken, or glass breakage has occurred to the vehicle, the insurance will only cover the damage if it is due to loose pavement on the road due to maintenance of the road.
Amazing...a system that is designed to help...You just gotta love it!
KEEP ALL YOUR RECEIPTS WHEN TRAVELING ON MEXICAN TOLL ROADS,
JUST IN CASE YOU NEED THEM ~

I was not aware of that. It takes some of the sting from the tolls.
