It's How You Look at It ~
Several other posts from a wide range of folks; all had the same comments - things are fine driving down into and through Mexico.
Then I read how the Green Angels are doing escorts for people...which I think is wonderful...however, when I hear this I feel like -folks are living in fear.....Just one way of looking at it ~ Of course, we could say "they are the smart ones" making decisions on the side of caution...nothing wrong with that either. Just another way of looking at the same situation
As the day goes on, I head off to Mazatlan to give a massage....But, I could not go the persons house .....due to the fact that there were four army trucks full of the fully armed - army personnel, about 40 of them ....surrounding a house next to my friends home.
We are told that we can not make it up the hill at this time... THIS IS THE PART I LOVE....Instead of freaking out or getting dramatic about it.....we go to lunch. My friend says she wants to bring me to this great new restaurant that serves the best Roasted Vegetable Goat Cheese salad...So, we go.
After some time we get the okay (her son was to call us when the road was opened back up). We get the call and head to her home. At the base of the hill, there they were all four army trucks sitting on the side of the road with all the men still in them...they wave us through.
So, I am thinking..was it a bust? Was it a practice on this bare house still being built??.was it.......????? That's when the thought came into mind... I can create any story to fit this situation..as we are all good story tellers...But it would just be my perception. AS i certainly was NOT going to ask these men ..."Hey , by the way..what you all been up to?"
It was SO very REFRESHING to be around people that did not make the situation into a dramatic event....I guess its all in the way we look at ,,,things ~

YEAH!!! The weather is great...kinda cooling down for us acclimated ones..or at least the ones going through menopause! Are you ready for a massage?

You are a much braver women Mary then me. I'm not sure if we will into Mexico this year after the couple from Colorado for killed (husband was) on Falcon Lake. Not sure if saving some money on our teeth is worth it. If you get a chance can you email us your cost for dental and how much a staying at our house/clinic you build for tourist would cost or do you have that on a web site? So sad so many locals are great people just trying to make a living and then there is the other side.

Staying at the rental house has a variable price, it includes transportation to and from the airport, grocery store and to 3 of your appointments. Prices can vary if there is more appointments or you have other things you want to do. Also includes translation IF needed. The price for a week is approximately $700.00...but again that can vary up or down.
Typically we see that clients save, after paying for EVERYTHING - 75% or more. Unless we are talking surgeries then the savings go up!!
Most of my clients plan their yearly checkups and blood work while here and also some see our eye doctors.
On top of that, the trip can SOMETIMES be tax deductible, again to many variables, a person would need to check in with their accountant.
As for the danger...I am reading daily emails from RV'ers heading here...no problems. I do not hear of many problems here either..but..always go with your gut
