Bring Pesos ~

When ever I drive into to Mexico I always stop in Nogales, moments after crossing the border...go into the ATM and get me some pesos. I do not WANT to use United states currency to pay...typically I would loose out on the exchange rate.

So ....when I first heard about this new law here in Mexico I thought nothing of it.....but then I realized that ....we ALL do not think a like; so here is Mary reporting on the new law....as I have many friends heading this way!!

Starting September 14, 2010 the use of CASH American Dollars to make purchases in Mexico will not be as free as it has been in the past.

Repeat guests to Mexico  - who have become accustomed to usingAmerican Dollars CASH in Mexico as though they were in theUnited States will not be able to... as much as before.  Other payment methods such asCredit Cards of all types and all issuing banks, Travelers Check’s,Mexican Pesos and non American Dollars foreign currencies in cash (exEuros or Canadian Dollars) are not affected in any way by this new law.

Hotels and Exchange Booths will only be able to change a maximum of$1,500 USD CASH per person per month into Mexican pesos.

Businesses may not be able to, or may choose not to acceptAmerican Dollars CASH for any purchase at all (this may include shopsetc)

I have heard news that the toll booths form Nogales to Mazatlan are on board with this new law...only two of them accepted American cash....

Like I said before....why pay more?  Just get the pesos.....

Living life simply with pesos....

PLEASE NOTE:
We are talking CASH, you still can use your debit or credit cards....just to be CLEAR
