Well, we FINALLY were able to head south; back to warm sunny Mexico.  We left mid afternoon on Friday (due to....well...complications with packing all things we wanted to bring...let me put it this way - we HAD a little extender attached to the van hitch..we made it ..ohhhh...maybe 20 feet!!  Long story, but I sure would of laughed my head off if ....I saw us....however, since I was us...at the time I was only giggling)

We made it safe and sound to  the isla on  Monday early evening. We crossed the border early Sunday morning and we had NO problems. Not at the border or the road trip (well...we did get the red light first time that ever happened, it could have been the Beverly Hill billy loaded up van that set us apart...but when the inspectors saw how much stuff we had, after they had us open the back hatch...they said "mucho ..No?" to one another then politely said ...you can go now)

I prefer to travel when it is light and that is what we did. WOW..things are SO beautiful, GREEN!!!!!!!

To answer the question I get asked weekly.....

Yes, I felt safe driving to and through Mexico and NO we had no problems.

I only have one warning....it involves getting gas....
