Pondering Gov't Spending....

Today as we were sitting in the Colroado DMV (department of motor vehicles) for 2 hours......I pondered exactly how much it was the three people behind the cash register and photo cameras were making an hour...combined......(the other three people working there were busy)..but these three people joked and chatted more than they worked.

I then began to wonder how much an hour the 40 plus people waiting were losing for not being able to work their jobs...due to the fact that the LAW requires us to have drivers license...so it was not optional that ALL these people were waiting...

I am NOT a mathematician...but I clearly could see that the state was costing these people waiting in the waiting room FAR MORE money than they were paying these three sitting around joking and chatting.  (someone with good estimations skills could send me an amount...hint, hint...)

So, this is how I see it.  We are required by law to abide by the laws, pay our taxes and sit patiently in waiting rooms..so we can be "legal" drivers etc....On top of this we have other duties we are responsible for...so there for .... the MISSING hours of work...negatively effect us, in a multitude of areas.

AND in return this government office (I can not say all of the offices are like this as I have not sat in all of them waiting for OUR number to come up...)  - chooses to allow three of six of their employees to blatantly waste tax dollars, our time and money as we sit there watching them knowing we could be out of the office must faster if they too were doing something in their "down time" instead of....nothing!

I am just saying this...if we were to run our businesses like this office ran theirs...we would be out of business quicker than a...a....well darn quick!!
