Shitty Soil..I Only Wish

This morning I found myself a bit disturbed about the lack of "shitty soil" I only wish that was the problem ...if you know what I mean .
I was watching the news and had learned that the First Lady, Michelle Obama has a fresh organic garden at the white house.   Okay that was not what disturbed me, what bothered me was the fact that ...she knows that the food we have the opportunity to purchase, is no good for us, due to lack of good soil.

So, I thought ...why the heck is the president not doing something about the crappy way the food is grown and harvested, not only here in the USA.... but...other countries, as they follow our crooked footsteps!!

...And why the heck are we allowing this slow poisoning process to happen... why is this being allowed to happen???  Then it hit me that this is all about pharmaceuticals and other chemical companies...I will not do the research to back up my claim, I think it is way to obvious that greed is behind this whole problem...but if I had to guess - I would bet that they - "the chemical fertilizer, pesticides companies" and the "pharmaceutical companies" are in bed together.  IF they keep doing what they are doing, NO one will be alive in the future for "them" to make money on/with... so this really makes NO sense - at least to me.

Lets not forget that the soil has the capability to protect itself (and the plant growing) WITH NO pesticides - if all the 52 nutrients were allowed to BE in the soil...HECK, some fertilizers have 3 nutrients, a far cry from 52!!!

Okay - enough of that....

A few of my freinds had to remind me how wonderful it is that Michelle Obama has brought it to many peoples attenton how imortant it is to grow your own food, or at least buy local from organic farmers and she has a great project she is working on called Choose my plate

Lets all hope ...and pray.... that SOMETHING will occur to help our shitty soil - and that this wonderful program will help enlighten many people!

2 TOUGH QUESTIONS

Here are your 2 Tough Questions ~

Question 1:

If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already,  three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion?

Read the next question before looking at the response for this one

Question 2:
Let's pretend that it is time to elect a new world leader,  (hmmmm) and only your vote counts.

Here are the facts about the three candidates.

Candidate A:  Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He has had two mistresses.  He also chain smokes and drinks 8 - 10 martinis a day.

Candidate B:  He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college, and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C:  He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian,  doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never committed adultery.

Which of these candidates would be your choice?

Decide first ... No peeking, and then scroll down for the response.

Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Candidate B is Winston Churchill..

Candidate C is Adolph Hitler

And, by the way, on your answer to the abortion question:  If you said YES, you just killed Beethoven.

Pretty interesting isn't it? Makes a person think before judging someone.

Funniest home videos

Friday night we were watching a movie, while one of the funniest home videos was occurring down stairs.. As we were enjoying our show.......  Bumper (our oldest cat at 3 years) was making a ruckus in the kitchen!! He is a big stealthy cat; his neck looks like a line backers neck (kitty style)...

Now when I say he was making a ruckus  - I mean he was making a ruckus.    The yowls, and other noises coming from him were - WAAYYYY beyond any fight I had ever heard him in OR for that matter ANY cat in!

My sister got out of bed and Gavin went dashing down stairs to save...what ever needed saving!!

When all of the sudden I hear them laughing downstairs...a bit hysterically~ Curiously,  I sit upstairs waiting to hear WHAT happened....(I am still recovering in bed upstairs)

What happened, was this.....
Gavin went downstairs following the noise - which lead him to the refrigerator - More specifically behind the refrigerator. It appears that our big macho cat was having a fight with the refrigerator...the problem was the fridge was winning!!

How is that you may ask????   Well, it seems as though he was getting shocked every time he batted the back of the fridge!!  He would bat the fridge, it would shock him, he would bat the fridge..... it would shock him - as this cycle continued - he got louder and more.....pissed off!!  SO the battle was engaged and poor Bumper was getting whipped - or should I say jolted.....

Gavin intercepted and saved this viscous cycle that had begun - by swatting the cat out from behind the  cursed fridge....

Poor Bumper - he curled up on Gavin's backpack and began to lick his paws.... He may of of lost another one of his 9 lives!!.....but he IS still alive AND ... We figure he left us with another  "Bumper Memory" AND  a missed opportunity to make $10,000.00 from one of the best Americas (Mexico's) Funniest home videos!!

Black Friday ~ Mexico Style

Hmmm....Black Friday ~ Mexico Style???   There are so many things that I see here in Mexico - and think "Man if Mexico only knew, NOT to follow the practices of many countries in the world.... they would be MUCH better off!"  For instance the chemicals in the fields, poisoning us...

ANYWAYS..... I see that some of the Mazatlan stores are falling suit and offering Black Friday deals all weekend!  I think this might be a great way to stimulate the economy a bit here too!  I guess all " borrowed ideas or methods" are not bad

Happy Shopping !!

Doctors Gave Me a Ride

I was speaking with a dear friend this weekend  about when the doctors gave me a ride and he reminded me that this was not something he ever heard of or experienced in the states.  I decided that what I thought was "nothing out of the ordinary".  Is truly a blessed gift and I feel a little sad that I have not shared this with you before.

Back in September we had a client here, for some dental work.  With out getting into the details - there was problems in the lab and her new teeth were not going to be ready on time.

This was a problem as she had purchased her tickets to fly home already.  LONG story short - the dentist we used, not only paid for her "change fee" for her flight, he also offered to put her up in a hotel (for the extra night), and he gave her a ride to the airport!

Well - I am not sure about you - but in my life I do not recall ... a doctor (or dentist) EVER, personally driving me anywhere (*see note below), OR to take the financial responsibility (on their own) - to be sure their patient is happy and well taken care of.

Kind actions, such as this has instilled in me a new respect for the doctors/dentist here in Mazatlan. They come from  a different "place" - one which may be derived from less politics - but one way or the other, you can feel and see the difference in the care they give you.  They truly care for their patients and do what is needed to make things work for the best of the patient.

For this I say Thank you - It is nice to feel appreciated and cared for ~ as well as respected.

I now wonder how I would feel back in the states, having to pay ridiculous high prices for care that may not make me feel....."cared for"...After all, we are - the patient - the ones making the choices.... including who we pay for? And for me it includes how we are treated in ALL aspects.   If I had a doctor that was unresponsive to my needs and questions - I would find a different doctor.

JUST for clarification ~~ I know there are good and bad doctors every where - I think the percentages are tipped in the patients favor here in Mexico..

*Notation from paragraph 4* I actually had this experience here in Mazatlan on Nov. 4th while in transportation from one hospital to another - after my fourth trip via ambulance ~ I was having my ct scan , when the ambulance had to go off to another call...the doctors gave me a ride back to the hospital in his personal car!!

Many Places

The Places I've Been..

I have been in many places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone.

I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there.

I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my friends, family and work.

I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too
much on physical activity anymore.

I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to
visit there too often.

I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.

Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there more often as I'm getting older.

One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the
adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart!

I may have been in Continent, and I don't remember what country I was in.

"One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure its worth watching."

I wish I could say I had written this poem and quote....I did not. But I feel like I could have!

Life is full of Many Places...so the story continues ~

A Fund Raiser

A good friend of mine, Robin, has put together a fund raiser for me.  I thought I would share it with my readers as well—-as it involves great pure, safe products that can be used for Christmas gifts...or in that case any time gifts ...even if the gift is for you

Thank you every one. Your continued emails, calls, love, prayers and thoughts are much appreciated.

Happy Shopping and Thank you

The Best Medical Team

Where do I Start??  I have missed my blogging this last week - due to a medical emergency. I SO appreciate the out pour of love and correspondence - it has touched me deep with in my heart.

No fear - As I have the best medical team working with me, and am being well taken care of.

Last Thursday I had massive internal hemorrhaging - through the process I was told I was lucky to be alive on Friday. There are no words for an event like this, at least not for me. I feel an  eternal gratefulness and a deep sense of appreciation for my medical team AND for my family and friends.

I am not completely through with this event - I was released on Sunday to come home; to regain my health, and become strong enough to have a complete hysterectomy and to attend to the source of bleeding in my small intestine. (which of course is now under control).

I can attest to this - the medical treatment I have been given here in Mexico has been completely satisfactory and given with such compassion -  that one, will never waiver my belief in the medical system here.
AND I will never forget how lucky I am to have the most incredible family and family of friends ~

Thank you Everyone For Who You Are ~ And to The Best Medical Team a person could ask for

Cheap Beach Vacation

Have Your annual-check-up

and pay for your vacation!!

Cheap Beach vacation?  Yes, you can  have one!! By simply having your annual-check-up (lab work and other tests) done here in sunny Mazatlan Mexico you can save $1000.00's of dollars. Allowing you that money for the vacation!

I have been completely amazed by the simple and inexpensive medical services here in Mazatlan.

I have paid $27.00 and $200.00 for the exact same lab work here; which included a complete blood work up, glucose levels, cholesterol, etc and urinalysis,..the whole shebang. I was sure the less expensive lab was going to take forever…but I was in and out in less than 20 minutes AND in 4 hours had ALL my results in my hands.

A friend of mine just had her "Cheap beach Vacation" annual-check-up which consisted of a pap smear, mammogram, all the female tests and complete blood work up …get this…$55.00! I love Mazatlan for this reason too…saving more money!

Most of my friends and clients have found it very financially advantageous to take part of a day and get your annual-check-up, colonoscopies and lab-work done while on vacation and almost pay for their vacation with the savings they saved in all the testing they have completed.

Mazatlan has state of the art equipment and the tests can be translated if necessary. (most tests are easily read)

OH – don’t forget your annual dental check up and eye exams!

Most eye exams are free with a purchase of glasses, lens or contacts. In fact I never have paid for an exam, even though I did not but eye wear every time.

The dentist I use in Mazatlan, speaks English and has wonderfully low prices for a cleaning and basic check up ~ 300 pesos, so about $27.00.

Let me know if I can help you our with your Cheap Beach vacation!

Scary Times on the Isla ~

It is Scary Times on the Isla - when the American tradition of Halloween shows itself here in Mazatlan and the Isla. Along with the preparation of the Día de los Muerto (Day of the Dead).
Last night on the isla the popular costume for the kiddos was "diablo" the devil. Some of the parents said their kids really did not need to wear the costume ...as they were lil' devils  (Hey I am just repeating what I hear).

On the Isla there were TWO scary ghouls that spooked a few of the parents..of the younger ones...

WHO ARE THESE GHOULS?????????

Now for the next few days here...celebration of Dia de los Muerto - as seen through the eyes of one of my avid readers - Thank you James for sharing these pictures you took in Guadalajara!

Gavin's Favorite Photo

My Favorite Photo ~

WHO does this remind you of??

Yes, it is a bow and arrow in her hands!

And from the dark ages...or at least the times when they wore...metal ~

So James...did we post your favorite picture..If not what one is your favorite?
Thanks again for sharing your photos......

Do not let the Scary Times on the Isla - detour your visit...it only happens a few times of the year!   (insert scary noises here)
